Phil grew up in Glen Cove and graduated from Glen Cove High School in 1970. Phil
attended SUNY Farmingdale and later attended LIU-C.W. Post College. During his
senior year, he came to the Lord in December of 1975 and was baptized at the Chapel.
Phil went on to Univ. of Kentucky for a M.S. in Microbiology, and to CUNY -Hunter
College for a MS in Health Sciences. Phil worked for Weill Medical College-Cornell Univ.
and Icahn School of Medicine-Mount Sinai in Environmental and Occupational Health;
After 41 years, he retired and expressed more interest in Chapel ministry. More recently,
he retired from CUNY-Hunter College after 23 years as an Adjunct Lecturer in Medical
Lab Sciences.
Phil was active in Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship while attending college and
remained connected to Sea Cliff Gospel Chapel. He had managed the Shepherd’s Inn
Coffee House, taught Sunday School, and presented sermons on a wide range of topics
at the Chapel. As he matured, the Elders invited him to join them in serving the Lord
here in Sea Cliff.
